About The Project
This project in Bradford was designed to function as a true extension of the home, combining elevated outdoor living with a fully protected lower lounge space that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
The goal was to create a backyard environment that felt solid, modern, and intentional — offering multiple functional zones while maintaining a cohesive look. The finished space delivers both open-air entertaining above and a sheltered outdoor room below, significantly expanding how the homeowners use their backyard.

Design & Layout
The layout was carefully planned to balance openness with structure. The upper deck provides a clean, elevated entertaining area with open sightlines, while the lower level creates a fully enclosed outdoor room that feels connected to the home.
By stacking the spaces vertically, the design maximizes usable square footage without overwhelming the yard. The covered lower level offers protection from the elements while still feeling open and inviting, making it suitable for both daytime use and evenings.
Clear transitions between levels ensure the space flows naturally, allowing each area to serve a distinct purpose while working together as a single outdoor living environment.
Materials & Finish
Composite decking was selected for its durability, low maintenance, and clean, modern appearance. Glass railings were installed on the upper level to maintain unobstructed views while adding a contemporary architectural element.
The structure was reinforced using a combination of wood framing and steel beams to ensure long-term stability and performance. On the lower level, hardscape flooring provides a solid, weather-resistant surface that anchors the space and enhances its usability year-round.
Clean detailing around posts, beams, and transitions helps the entire build feel polished and intentional.
